Our new app comes with bug fixes, improvements and a few new added features. So let’s dive into it. 

Purchase Activity Points or Sponsorships

Now community members (users) can easily purchase more activity points from your platform, making it easier and intuitive for users to convert actual money into your community virtual currency. They can also purchase sponsorship on any content right from their Mobile App 1.7.

Offline Mode

Are you out with no access to the internet? Not to worry, you can still post on to your feed or comment or like on your friend’s photos, and when the app connects to the internet, it will automatically update everything for you.

Mention Pages or Groups

Part of an active group in your community with many interactions daily? Then this will be a handy feature. @YourFavouriteGroupOrPage to make it visible to the members of that group or page. However, if you are a part of the public group, then this post will be seen by all. You can also view this post both on your feed and on the respective group feed.

*Please note – This feature is functional only on core versions above 4.7.10

An improvement which we think requires a spotlight on is for – support number of new chat messages on app badges for iOS devices. This feature was already available to the Android users, but now our Apple fans have it too.

What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA. The GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.

Now, here are some highlighted items in this release:

1. [Improvement] Able to export user data
2. [Bug Fix]  Relationship Status does not show on the User profile.
3. [Bug Fix] Relationship Statuses do not update unless clearing cache in AdminCP
4. [Bug Fix] When going to AdminCP, blank page sometimes displays with Error “Could not resolve host: store.phpfox.com“
5. [Bug Fix] Show unfriendly error about mail function on Front-end when SMTP is configured wrong
6. [Bug Fix] AdminCP – Mail Settings – Show “Array” phrase
7. [Bug Fix] When a guest browses another user profile, an unnecessary option to delete the event is enabled

Notice

To support the ability to export user data, the Material template and Single Device Login app also require being updated along with Core version 4.6.1b3. The new versions of these products are now available on phpFox Store. If you are using the Material template and Single Device Login app, please don’t forget to upgrade them to their latest version as well right after upgrading the phpFox Core.

Fixed Issues

All the major bugs and issues from phpFox 4.6.0 have been fixed. Some of the highlights are as follows:

• Profile photo doesn’t show in Bootstrap theme.
• Cannot login as other users.
• The photo isn’t found in the feed when users update profile picture.
• Guests can access some pages although the site is in offline mode.
• Wrong monthly price displayed in Membership Upgrades.

Improvements

As always phpFox did many improvements focusing on the core features of the script. Aside from enhancing the layout and structure of the AdminCP, here are some of the things you need to know.

• Allow admin to freeze header, sub-menu, profile-menu, left-right columns in the Material template.
• Support phpFox to run in PHP version 7.2
• IP Information – show more information: region, city, zip code, lat, long, timezone
• Auto expands comment box.
