We are pleased to announce the phpFox 4.6.1 build 5 is released now. In this maintenance version, we continuously fixed many issues as well as added some minor improvements to make your phpFox site more stable.

Let’s take a quick look on some highlighted info of this version now:

Issues Fixed

• Video – Technical issue when adding wrong video link
• Global Search – Keywords are removed when clicking on the Search icon
• Login As Page – Unable to delete feed item right after shared
• Feed items of relationship show duplicated username
• Blogs – Search – RTL layout isn’t applied when switching to RTL language

Improvements

• Separate Subscription as a standalone app.
• Sign up – Enable “Username” field by default
• Remove old Ads module

As we removed Ads module since version 4.6.1 build 5, you can install/upgrade the Better Ads app on phpFox Store.

Moreover, come along with phpFox 4.6.1 build 5, the Subscription app is now available as the stand-alone app on phpFox Store. Therefore, after upgrading to phpFox 4.6.1 build 5, please don’t forget to install the new Subscription app right then. With fresh phpFox installation, Subscription app can be installed normally.

Fixed Issues

All the major bugs and issues from phpFox 4.6.0 have been fixed. Some of the highlights are as follows:

• Profile photo doesn’t show in Bootstrap theme.
• Cannot login as other users.
• The photo isn’t found in the feed when users update profile picture.
• Guests can access some pages although the site is in offline mode.
• Wrong monthly price displayed in Membership Upgrades.

Improvements

As always phpFox did many improvements focusing on the core features of the script. Aside from enhancing the layout and structure of the AdminCP, here are some of the things you need to know.

• Allow admin to freeze header, sub-menu, profile-menu, left-right columns in the Material template.
• Support phpFox to run in PHP version 7.2
• IP Information – show more information: region, city, zip code, lat, long, timezone
• Auto expands comment box.

This Development Release is specifically for all phpFox 3rd party Experts only. The purpose of this release is for all the 3rd Party Experts to test the compatibility of all 3rd party products which include apps and themes to the latest version of phpFox 4.6.1. The 3rd Party Experts will perform the necessary test and tweak features in this version. Compared to the current phpFox 4.6.0, this version contains many improvements that will absolutely love by phpFox fans out there.

MAIN FEATURE UPDATES

AdminCP New Layout

One of the main feature updates in phpFox 4.6.1 is the new layout of its AdminCP. Recently, we posted an article regarding the new look of the Admin Control Panel. Read the Sneak Peek for the new phpFox AdminCP if you happen to missed it.

Rechecked all the Core Settings

To optimize the performance of the script, we run through its core settings to deprecate all the useless settings and add more useful ones.

Improvements in version phpFox 4.6.1

• Support option to show/hide site menu with user groups.
• “Share” app will be added to Manage Apps page in the AdminCP for easier management of user group settings.
• Add a Block to AdminCP Dashboard feature is back.
• phpFox script is now compatible to run on PHP version 7.2
• Additional information for IP such as region, city, zip code, lat, long and timezone

Fixed Bugs/Issues

• Duplicated “Meta Keyword” field in Create Static Page page
• Unable to edit Relationship Statuses in Manage Relationship Statuses page (AdminCP).
• The photo doesn’t show in the feed when users update profile picture.
• Quizzes and Polls don’t load up the results if the Ajax Mode is turned off.
• The last character of messages in the feed is removed if it’s a colon.
• Duplicated info of “Member Since” in Profile Info page.
• Cannot login as other users.
• Missing custom fields in registration popup when enabling the setting “Multi-step registration”.
• Cannot add a ban filter with wildcard email address.
• Admin can’t edit feeds on User Profile page.
• Users state info show wrong when admin edit their info from AdminCP.
• Replicated custom fields were blocked in other users profiles.
• Show avatar of the current admin when editing users in Admicp.

Material Template Updates

• Allow admin to freeze header, sub-menu, profile-menu, and left-right columns
• The layout of some core components is updated such as comment, reposition profile cover, custom privacy.
• All the reported bugs and issues have been fixed.
